Summer is around the corner and that means we must up our hydration game. I love my plain water but do sometimes feel like spicing things up when it comes to quenching my thirst. So here is the perfect recipe for your new favourite ice tea with subtle lemon, ginger and mint flavours! Seriously refreshing and uplifting during the warmer months.
Homemade Ice Tea with Lemon
Makes 1,5 litres
Ingredients
1 l water, boiled
5 bags of rooibos tea
4 bags of jasmine tea
4 tbsp honey, agave or maple syrup
fresh mint + extra to garnish
2-inch ginger, peeled and sliced
4 lemons, juiced
0,3 litres of cold water
Method
1. Boil the water and place into a large bowl. Add the honey, the two different tea flavours, fresh mint and the sliced ginger. Let everything seep for 10 minutes before taking out the tea bags. Set aside and let cool completely.
2. Once cooled add the lemon juice, cold water and remove the mint leaves. Strain your tea into bottles to keep in the fridge for up to a week. To serve, pour your Ice Tea into a jug and garnish with mint sprigs, sliced ginger and lemon slices.
